THE AMERICANS
Robert Frank was an enormous influence on my photography. His book The Americans is a raw look at America that is still inspiring today.

This humble nod to Mr. Frank is a collection of images that remind me of where I've been and who I've met.

On assignment with a local paper, I was shooting the 2008 Presidential election from the Republican Party Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Needless to say, as John McCain's numbers began to fall, so did the faces of the white people wearing red.

Once it was official, that America had just elected its first black President, the partygoers cleared out. The empty and deflated banquet room soon saw a parade of servers, cooks, and other staff who came out to celebrate. It was an evening and an atmosphere that I feel lucky to have been part of.
